Gran Turismo

Inspired by a true story, Gran Turismo follows our main character Jann Mardenborough, played by Archie Madekwe, a teen growing up in the football (soccer) obsessed family in England. Like any other kid at his age, video games played a role in his life and he eventually hones his skills to become one of the best virtual drivers in the world.
We follows his journey through a campaign stunt by Nissan, which see a handful of Gamers be chosen to transfer their skills into the driving seat of some of the most powerful racing cars in the world.
Gran Turismo has a great cast of actors with the likes of David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Djimon Hounsou and Ginger Spice (of Spice Girl fame… I kid you not, a Spice Girl is in this film). The filming was great with some great locations and the story is insane ( I say again, IT IS A TRUE STORY) with the locations, sound design and some camera work capturing the perfect feel of playing the Gran Turismo video game. Where you would figure, such as the cars and their sounds are perfectly captured with the pure power and sleek look of each car to accompany.
A good film which does capture the deeper meaning of video games including the creating of a multimillion dollar industry.
